- Yes you do, if they aren't synced then you might as well not use 14-bit at all.
- If the samples are out of sync the 14-bit effect would be useless. I was
- referring to the fact that splitting a 16-bit sample into a 8 and 6 bit part is
- easier than doing all the math involved to make good use of volume modulation.
